Today felt like a regular day. My roommate and I went to the mall which is normal. I didn't even feel compelled to do anything touristy. We both needed shoes and clothes. We were going to go to the beach too, but we got back kinda late. We ended up going to the movies instead. The school was screening Winter's Bone, so we went and saw that. We thought it was at the university, but apparently it was at an off-campus location. The Centro Cultural is in San Isidro not at the university. So we went to the University and we got there like, right at 7:30 and found out that we had to go to another neighborhood, so we took a taxi only because it would have taken an hour by bus. We weren't too late. Movie started at 7:30 and we got there at 8:00. It must have been short tho because we got out a little after 9. We were supposed to meet our new friend Luis there, and we met him after. Then he gave us a little walking tour of el centro de Miraflores, which is the really touristy area. I was surprised because they had a TGIF. We saw Chili's too but I saw that in Mexico too. I didn't think there would be a TGIF all the way in Peru. And Pinkberry!!! I was so excited!!! The first (and probably only) sign of my favorite food ever in Peru. Frozen yogurt!!! There was a really long line, and I wasn't sure of the prices so I was worried they would be expensive, so we didn't eat there. We ate ice cream later tho. We went to Parque de Kennedy. (yes, named after JFK) There were lots of people and artisans. Lots of little stands that had Peruvian food and desserts and snacks. We also took a walk down a busy pedestrian street there called Las Pizzas. It's named so because there used to be lots of Pizzerias but now there are lots of bars and clubs there now. It wasn't too exciting, so we didn't stay. I don't know. Wasn't too exciting but it was kinda cool. Then Luis helped us onto our bus back. The people here are very kind and helpful. Today was fun and chill. I have more plans for tomorrow, so a good weekend before school starts Monday. Honestly, though, I'm getting a little nervous, but we'll see.
